Car history:
1972 Chevrolet Corvette coupe, Elkhart Green, original black leather bucket seats, power steering, power brakes, a/c, manual windows. I bought it from a young guy in April 2013 that inherited it when his father passed away, he only drove it a couple of times because he was a big guy and couldn't barely fit behind the steering wheel. It has the original numbers matching 350 engine, auto trans (I believe it has a shift kit because it will chirp the tires coming out of first) it has C-4 fuel injection, intake and electric fuel pump, I do have the original intake manifold, 4 bbl carb, duel snorkle air cleaner and mechanical fuel pump that will go with the car to the new owner. It has a newer battery, tires are nice and have lots of miles left, new master cylinder, brakes work great and have plenty of life left. I had a factory refurbished tele-tilt steering column professionally installed by Tony's Corvette shop in Gaithersburg, MD. They also installed a new steering gear box and rag joint (the steering is tight and straight). The bird cage is solid (I had the car inspected at Tony's and they said it is a nice car) windshield is good, both of the door glasses roll up and down smooth, the back window is removable (last year for this option). Under the hood and frame is clean and not grimy. I had the car repainted from the doors and t-tops to the back,I gutted the doors, pulled the tail lights and rear bumpers etc. so there is no over spray. the front end was not done because I ran out of cash and time to pull the head lights. There is left over matching paint.
Now the bad, it does have a couple of tiny hair line cracks around the headlight openings (I was told this is normal for these cars). It will need a new radio and speakers. the wiper door will need attention as it stays up all the time i do have a new vacuum actuator from Ecklers Corvette that is included. the bumpers will need re-chroming, and does have a little oil leak at the rear main seal not too bad though. There is an after market alarm which i don't think works and i was going to remove it but never got around to it. The car has been garage kept since i have owned it. The pictures are how the car looks now. This is not a show car but I get plenty of complements on it at the local Saturday night car show. This is a nice entry level classic vette. I just bought a 2015 Dodge Challenger scat pack so my garage is getting too crowded. I have the Maryland title for this car in hand, it is clear and in my name with no liens. I have had some questions asking to see pictures of the VIN number and the number on the right front pad of the engine block just in front of the right cylinder head, so I just up loaded two pictures of them. They match.
After double checking the systems in the car for the high bidder the windshield wiper motor is not working properly and may need a replacement motor. It made a faint clicking noise when i turned them on for a time then i tapped on the housing with a screw driver handle and it started working and now its back to the clicking sound. Ecklers corvette sells rebuilt wiper motors for $149. In their 2015 catalog. The high bidder will retract his bids as he was planning to drive the car back to colorado. Mechanically the car would have no trouble with the trip but you gotta have wipers.
A/C is not working. I forgot to mention this due to the fact I rarely use the A/C in any car I have, I think it may just need a charge because the clutch on the compressor comes on. I drove it with the t-tops off so I never saw the need to use it. The car runs good, it starts right up, the trans shifts as it should with no slipping and it is fast! The frame is straight and clean with minimal surface rust. I have only put 1,039 miles on the car in the 2,3/4 years I have owned it. I am just south of Baltimore and drove it to Ocean City MD. for a classic car show back in 2014 and it is 150 miles each way and the car ran great. Color codes from the trim tag. Assembly date is G21. 12,745 miles from the odometer. Sold for $13,300. December 30, 2015.
