Car history: |
HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF A 1970 CORVETTE STINGRAY. This vehicle is a matching numbers car with only 38,940 miles on the original 350 & matching M-20 transmission. The car was babied in safe storage for almost 25 years, until last year when it was brought out to do intensive research on the vehicle's authenticity and de-code all the data in front of us. Based on these recent findings, the car is, according to multiple data outlets, 1 of 278 constructed with the following options: (please note, vehicle number derived from total of 1970 corvettes built = 17,316 units)
* M-20 manual transmission ( 70% were sold with 4-speed transmissions ) * Tilt / Telescoping steering ( 33% ) * Power windows ( 27% ) * Air conditioning ( 38% ) * Power steering ( 68% ) * 350 / 370hp with 11.0:1 , solid lifter cam, (20 added HP with Z28 intake & carb) block #'s: 706410839 V0519CTH * Trim: 400 (but was retro-fitted with leather seats in 1970 by original owner @ dealership) * Paint 984 Daytona Yellow * Removeable tops & pop-out rear window
The carburetor was freshened-up for the sake of doing so, and the rear disc pads were replaced as well. Retractable headlamps work normally as well as the console lamps ( i.e. fiber-optic lighting ). Clean paint & great tires. This car runs EXCELLENT and feels healthy. For anyone who knows, there is a distinct sound of "cammy rumble" that is indicative with this 350........... AND THIS ONE IS NO EXCEPTION !!!............ At any speed, it is effortless to drive. Braking and steering are crisp & responsive, and over-all ride quality is comparable to a fresh restoration.......although, there has been NO restoration work done to this vehicle.
Mother time hasn't forgotten this car though. After 41 years, the passenger window is sometimes sluggish going down. The original distributor failed and the car has been "pdated"with HEI. The chrome distributor cover is with the car, as well as miscellaneous pieces gathered 'just-in-case'. Otherwise, here is the opportunity to make the investment in a rare coupe such as this. Please ask as many questions as you like, I want the buyer to be informed and comfortable with this acquirement. Steve (602) 326-3485 Price: US $33,000.00 |
