Car history: |
One of a kind 1972 Stingray Corvette the last of the rear removable window. Engine is the original code"k" Lt1 200hp engine and original option zr1 close range 4 speed transmission and suspension package. Car was originally Elkhart green with saddle leather interior. Car since then was customize in the late 80's including Daytona hood and rear spoiler, shark nose and head lights. Car was painted a red and white scheme that looked amazing and was brought too many car shows over the years. Since then the car was recustomized changing the gas tank and cutting the rear section of the car being made into a functional storage area almost looks like a pick up when the tonneau cover is removed. I actually wanted to fiberglass mold the entire trunk with amplifiers, subs and neon lights behind plexiglas but found another project that won my interest. Engine was removed, rebuilt and painted some year ago and engine compartment was painted as well at the same time. All seals gaskets, hoses, belts. More recent work includes new clutch, brand new tires, rebuilt quadrajet carb, alternator, battery, the entire braking system was done including calipers, rotors and pads, 8mm high temp wires with a new distributer, cap and rotor, thrust glass packed exhausts. This Stingray runs beautifully without any hesitation, starts up in cold weather with one pump of the pedal, and drives better than my newer gmc truck that I drive everyday. You can trust driving this corvette anywhere without any worries what so ever. This car is 100 percent rust free including frame, birdcage, chassis, floor boards are in great shape. Interior is in decent condition including the dash and door panels. The seats are out of a newer 1980 corvette and are in presentable condition but i would recommend replacing the seats along with the carpet for the interior to look new. As far as gauges that work and dont work are as followed, Fuel gauge works, Water Temp works, Clock Even works! Oil and battery gauge dont work along with RPM but, MPH does work. Odometer shows 4,000 miles but car has 104K original miles. The paint on the car looks amazing from a foot or two away and absolutely looks great at night and in pictures, but will definitely need to be resanded and repainted due to the last persons poor painting prep, and painting techniques!!! I do have the paint code if you want to duplicate the color. 102,256 miles. December 6, 2009. |
