Car history: |
Everything on this Vette works except the windshield washer pump and the interior light behind the drivers seat. Both interior lower lights work. The radio is aftermarket along with the speakers in the aftermarket kick panels. The original radio, condition unknown and original kick panels in good condition will go with the car if desired. No surprises on this car. Rare and beautiful 1968 Corvette Convertible sporting a 427 cubic inch engine, four speed close ratio transmission, and great International blue color and blue interior. Runs and drives perfect. Fully restored. Power Steering and power brakes. Excellent panel fit. BFG tires with correct rally wheels. Always garaged and covered. INTERIOR: Beautiful blue interior that has been recently updated with new seat covers. Very nice dash with clear instrumentation and a crack free center console. This car has had a frame off restoration (with documentation): Book and pictures go with the car. All engine accessory drives, fuel pump, alternator, water pump, and radiator to mention a few were replace or rebuilt and engine tuned. Body was sanded down to fiberglass and repaired where needed. The body was painted the correct blue color and clear coated. The chassis was sandblasted and painted. All bushings were replaced. The Hardtop was renewed and a new top installed. Brakes were rebuilt. New carpet and seat covers and other interior components. The transmission was rebuilt and new heavy duty clutch installed. The engine was rebuilt on 4-27-11 by Great Hills Automotive restoration shop in Austin, Texas GM power steering and a power brake booster was installed. In 2003, Mike Wells -- an Austin area resident purchased the car. Mike is a very meticulous and NCRS oriented owner. The car won several local area car shows (see trophies photo). mileage was 60,523 when Mike Wells bought it in 12-5-03 -- the car was fully restored at the time, except engine re-build which occurred on 4-27-11; exterior color - International blue. Hal Lanham, the current owner is no less meticulous. His comment about the car is its beautiful, restored, and you can drive it anywhere! I also have a build sheet and receipts for all work done. The car was body off restored. Wet sanded super high gloss finish on the paint. BiN $41,925. April 25, 2016. Not sold on April 29, 2016. Body Off Resto in 2000. January 18, 2008 from vette finders. |
