Engine details: |
Original block and heads were rebuilt in 2020 in the original configuration with the exception of bumping the compression ratio to around 9.5:1. On the dyno it pulled about 395 hp and 490 lb/ft torque. |
Other details: |
Original M40 automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2020 using the factory torque converter. |
|
Car history: |
The car was originally sold by McCranie Chevrolet, Nashville, GA, as ordered by the original owner (John R. Drake) on 5/17/72. The car retains the Protect-o-Plate, tank sheet, and original owner's manual.
I purchased the car in 1990 when I lived in Arizona from a Corvette club friend who had gone to Mountain Home, Idaho, to buy it for himself. The original owner has since passed away and I believe I may be the 4th owner. It is highly optioned and original with most factory components still in place, even the original paint and dealer pinstripes. |
