Motion Corvette Recreation. This 68 big block Vette was originally a 390 HP 427 in storage for 12 years, complete body off, ground up restoration that lasted nine years. Completed two years ago. When I found it, the 427 was long gone, but the car had a Motion long style cold air hood, aluminum western type wheels, old header sidepipes, and Motion emblems that are metal, not plastic. May or may not have Baldwin-Motion history. Best of everything during restoration, GM Performance Parts, PST, PPG, EcKler's, Chicago Corvette, Zip, Spicer, Hooker, and the list goes on and on. Torch red, ZZ 502HP 502, with BowTie rocker rollers and aluminum racing valve covers, M21 4speed, with 3.70 Richmound gears. Power steering, manual brakes. Center-Line wheels, 8x15 with P295's up front and 10x15 with P305's on the rear, help keep it planted to the road. Tilt-tel. colum and original woodgrain steering wheel. All new interior. The body has many modifications, EcKler's fender flares that were modified, hand fabricated front and rear spoilers. The tail section was lowered, the tag was moved down, a narrowed 67 camaro bumper was used, and to finish off that road racer look, there is a 3 point roll bar, making this Vette, truly 1 of a kind. All paint work was done with the body off the frame. To keep the body free of stress cracks under all that torque, there was extra structural work done. Everything about this Vette was built for performance, handling, and that 1 of a kind maximun muscle car look. Car needs headlight control valve, doors will come down, but will not go up on their own. Windshield has crack on right bottom and paint bo-bo on right front corner. Colors from the owner. 92,000 miles. December 23, 2008. |
