1972 big block LS5 454 Corvette Stingray T-Top coupe. This vintage vehicle is an original big block with a fresh 454 motor. It is not a numbers matching block. This classic muscle car has a rare 454 375 horsepower oval port motor with a rebuilt TH400 automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and air conditioning. The engine runs good with lots of power through the gears and the transmission shifts smoothly. It is a factory air-conditioned car. It has a 4-barrel Eldenbrock carburetor and the original air cleaner is included. The suspension is completely redone underneath with new tires (90% or better), new brakes, new bushings, new fuel tank, new fuel lines, new leaf springs, new dual exhaust, new radiator, and factory 8 inch Rally Wheels. Mechanically, this classic is well on its way to being restored. This 1972 Corvette Stingrays has black interior (404 trim code) and a Mille Miglia Red (973 paint code) exterior. The exterior has lots of chrome and the 454 emblems on the big block hood. The body is in good shape with nice lines and fits. All the glass is intact and without cracks or scratches. New weather striping for around the door windows and t-tops are included in the auction. The chrome luggage rack is solid and provides utility for those long trips. The interior clock works. The steering column is tilt as well as telescopic. The headlights need help coming up and close fine. The vacuum system has all new hoses/lines. The pioneer am/fm radio with cassette is dated and not working. The carpet and seats will need to be restored. The dash pad and door panels are in good condition. All gauges work with the exception of the Tachometer. The tachometer cable is suspected as the cause for it not operating. The fuel gauge is not working and the sending unit is suspected as the problem. The air conditioning needs the installed compressor plumbed and charged. The original air cleaner is not installed because of clearance between the hood and carburetor. The VIN # is 1Z37W2S503954 and the odometer reads 82,250. This classic has a clear Florida title. Basically, this car is in very nice shape for the year. It looks good and runs strong. What you see is the original red paint, which is showing its age with a few spots, and fiberglass areas that need attention. One noticeable spot missing paint is located on the hood by the left front light. Another spot that needs minor fiberglass repair is on the left rear fender and a spot below the rear bumper. These are minor repairs. Overall this valuable corvette will need paint and the interior refreshed and some tender loving care. January 29, 2008.
