Car history:
1970 Corvette LT1 with its original numbers matching 370 HP solid lifter motor. The pad is stamped 70S404002 V0208CTU date is B 2 0 .The motor runs strong and does not smoke it idles and driver very well. It has its correct heads, intake and smog pump but does not have its original Holley carburetor or TI distributor. The TI amp is still attached to the drivers inner fender. The transmission is a 1976 T10 attached to the correct 621 bell housing, and it drives and shifts well with no noise. The rear end is correct with the code 2 CFA 370 heavy duty positraction dated 1-19-70 and also feels good with no noise.
The front clip is original GM glass with some repairs but no major panel changes that I can see. It sports its correct 1970 only front grills. The LT1 Hood also appears correct as no holes were ever drilled for emblems. The wiper door assembly will need some attention for it to work properly, all parts are there but it is not hooked up to vacuum and the door looks bent. The rear quarter panels appear to be original GM and never damaged or replaced with only minor repair work. The tail and marker lights are nice and also correct. It also has the correct rally wheels with good tires.
The Interior is all correct 1970 components except for the 1969 upper dash. Most of the panels have been painted white or recoverd in white vinyl. The original interior color appears to have been black and it is currently White with blue carpet and black dash panels. I pealed the vinyl off of the original shift console and it looks good. It does have the correct 6500 red line tack which is not hooked up currently due to the incorrect distributor. All the other gauges are the correct green of 1970. The seat belts are all there as well and seem to function fine. The rear retractors work and the belts are dated 5B 70, the drivers side front seat is dated 5E 1971 and the pass lap belt looks incorrect and is dated 1980.
I looked over the under carridge and the frame look's excellent with no rust damage. Other than the usual dent under the front crossmember I did not see any damage. I could not see any signs of it being bent or repaired. There was no damage to the battery box or the storage bin. The spare tire holder has a break in it and there is no rim and tire in it. The gas tank looks newer and therefore I did not drop it to look for the tank sticker.
I have driven this car and it has incredible power but is lacking in breaking and steering. Both work but feel a bit sloppy at this time. The bushings and ball joints in the upper and lower controle arms all look to be the originals.

Now for the interesting part,

The car has had a firewall change at sometime in it life of 38 years and probably very early on. When I looked at the body bolts they look like they have not been removed for at least 30 years. When this repair took place most likely due to a dash fire It got replaced with one from an air conditioned and power brake car. The AC box is there and the controls are there but the wiring is not. The heater core is hooked up. It has Power brakes and power windows which work. As you know the LT1 option did not allow for A/C or power steering in 1970. The work that was done to splice the body above the transmission crossmember appers to be of very good quality, and you would never notice it if it was not for the AC in the engine compartment.

The trim tag is missing but it looks like the car was 982 Donnybrook Green with either 400 or 403 black interior. The date of build is around Feb 18 th. The last vin# in January was 402261 and the last in Febuary was 405183 which made for a montly production of 2922 cars and this was the 1741st car built in Febuary. The older white paint job with black pin stripes looks good at 20ft.

This would be an excellent canidate for restoration with another rear section or just complete the A/C conversion and enjoy the cool air.

The car is sold with a clear Washington title
