Car history:
Beautiful 1970 Corvette Convertible 350/350hp 4 speed. Frame Off Nut and Bolt Restoration. Less than 1,000 miles since the restoration in 2001. The gentleman who originally had the car restored invested over $70,000 in the car and the restoration. I have over $40,000 in receipts. The car was originally restored in 2001. I purchased the car last April. Since the restoration the car has been driven less than 1,000 miles. I took the car back to the original engine builder Classic Corvettes in Tampa Florida. I had them go completly through the car mechanically to make sure everything was in order. The engine builder recalled rebuilding the entire engine during the restoration (included in the receipts). He also commented that this was the nicest driving 1970 vette he knows of. After a full engine and transmission service I then took the car to the original restorer. This restorer has for many years been considered in the high end high quality category of restorers. Included in his restorations have been a number of NCRS show winning vettes. He went thoroughly through the car and freshened up a few minor items. The car has outstanding paint work and the fit and finish on the interior and the exterior is quality work. This car was restored to be a high performance, great driving car. During the restoration an electronic ignition was installed for greater reliability. I asked the original owner after restoration why he didn't drive the car more since it is one of the best driving vettes around. He said he just never got around to it. Go figure, a high quality no expense spared restoration to build a car the way you want to have it built and then hardly ever drive it. 92,071 miles. the trim plate is not longer attached. August 16, 2010.
