Car history:
1975 C3 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster
Repainted in its original Code 27 Steel Blue Metalic, one of only 1,268, this final
year of the convertible (until 1986) Corvette is a show winner. The car has taken
1st and 5th at the Western States Corvette Council (WSCC) events put on by the
Diablo Valley Corvette Club in 2007 and 2010, and has won numerous local Good
Guys events as well. As the photos show, this Corvette is stunning. It is a well
maintained driver with a rebuilt L-48 Option 350 V8. The engine and engine
compartment have been tastefully and near originally restored and detailed. The
stying of the car from bumper to bumper, wheels to roof has been kept in like
factory condition and the interior is unrestored and original. The car starts, runs,
and drives very well with no problems. The stereo system has been slightly
upgraded to include an amplifier and additional speakers in the rear. This aids in
hearing your favorite tunes while traveling down the highway with the top down.
The top is in great condition and operated as it should. There is no hard top
available with this car. This Corvette overall is in very good condition, but is not
perfect. While we strive to disclose any known problems, we do not know the
history of the car other than what we have been told. These are some of the small
issues that we found during our inspection. The left turn signal does not operate,
the windshield wiper washer motor runs but does not squirt. There is no hood latch
but the hood does remain closed during operation due to the design. There is a
slight front end rattle, the source of which is unknown, and the power steering
pump has a light groan. Both power windows operate but are slow and at times
need assistance. The passenger side window is chipped on its leading edge and
has scratches in the surface. It also does not seat properly when fully in the up
position. The tachometer does not rest at 0 with the engine off and odometer does
not operate. Actual mileage is unknown. There is no high fan operation although
the other speeds do work. The clock does not operate and the head light switch
knob will need replacement. A replacement knob is included and the lights do work.
