Car history: |
Real deal 1970, Laguna Gray, 454, 4 speed with air conditioning, Corvette coupe. I bought this car to restore and keep along with my 1967 427 coupe, but I have realized I have absolutely no time to devote to the projects that I have accumulated. This is a really good car and is very, very original. This car has its born with drivetrain including the 454/390 horse engine and close ratio transmission. It even has its original CAT coded 3.08:1 ratio heavy duty big block rear end. These components are not restamped, the engine, transmission and rear end were all born with the car. This car has been stored for over twenty years in a garage near Lexington, Kentucky. The paint is original and just about every original bonding seam can be seen. The paint is of course laquer checked and in poor condition but a no hit original paint car is still incredible to find. The black vinyl interior is also original and could use restoration. It had a luggage rack on it at one time and has since been removed. I would have filled in the holes during restoration, but you could put a rack back on if you like. The frame is good and solid and the spare tire tub is still installed. It has surface rust on it from sitting all of these years but I have found no soft spots. I have not tried to start the car since I have owned it. I suspect someone will do a frame off restoration and rebuild the drivetrain at that time. I believe all of the engine components are original as well, such as the carb, intake, exhaust manifolds and distributor. I have the original tank sticker that matches the options on the car as well as the original protect o plate that tells the same story. There is just no smoke and mirrors about this car. This is a great car to restore, the desirable Laguna Gray color coupled to the fact that it is a real big block, four speed car with air conditioning with paperwork makes this one worth the effort. 93,750 miles. Motor suffix code is T0211CZU. July 8, 2010. |
