|1976 Chevy Corvette Stingray L-48
It is an unmistakeable view down the hood, between those shark fin front fenders. Like staring down the nose of a missile, guided by you. Ok, maybe not a missile but this baby gets up and goes. The steering is incredibly responsive. The transmission shift as smooth as can be. These older Corvettes are quickly overlooked when placed next to newer more expensive cars. But back in 1976 this was the only american production sports car! I have driven many newer cars but none have the character this car has.
Despite no convertibles and few other changes, Corvette sales rose another 21 percent for 1976 to 46,558 units, breaking the '69 record at last. Take a look at my pictures, this car is an eye catcher. These cars are becoming less common every day. This particular one has glossy red paint and very nice black interior with wood accents. The engine is "chromed out" no money was spraed decking out the engine bay. There is no A/C compressor, but there are A/C controls on the dash. This car has been restored in the past and has some flaws (refer to pictures), but is still a beauty. The wheels are in near perfect condition, and the tires have plenty of meat left. The engine is strong as an ox, but will need a little carburetor adjustment. It idles a little rough (choke and idle adjustment will clear it right up). When you get on the go pedal it clears right up an takes off! The T-tops are beautiful and don't leak. When I took it through the touchless car wash I did notice some leaks on the side and rear windows. While driving it I also noted that the tach and clock are not working properly, all other gauges are working properly. This car is not perfect by any means but you can't go wrong for the price. In person inspection is recommended.
