Car history:
1) This incredible 1969 Corvette original L71 Tri-Power is presented in a stunning RPO 986 Cortez Silver with black interior and a 435 horsepower 427 backed by what is believed to be the original Muncie 4-speed. It has been subject to a frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration back to its original colors and condition just as it came off the showroom floor back in 1969. The powertrain is numbers-correct down to each of the three Holley carburetors and the rest of the car was also restored with an eye to detail - each nut, bolt, washer, and stamping is as close to factory-original as can be found for a car priced this low. Even the factory assembly-line markings were painstakingly recreated to restore this gorgeous car back to its original glory. Take this beauty to Bloomington and get your Gold certification with very little work required!
As with any classic vehicle, there are some minor issues for a buyer to be aware of:
- Due to an unresolved vacuum issue, the headlights raise and lower when the engine is started.
- Due to another vacuum issue, the wipers currently do not function.
- The engine block is a 4-bolt main with the correct numbers stamped on it but is not the original engine.
- The odometer is not currently hooked up, however, the vehicle has less than 200 miles since the restoration.
This big-block beauty is the real deal and would be a great addition to any collection or as an awesome fair-weather driver for a true Corvette enthusiast! No bid at starting $62,500 on March 27, 2018.
