Car history: |
This is a two -owner car that has been owned and driven by females its entire life. Exterior- The car was repainted in 2002 a beautiful pearl blue that is a little brighter than the original blue. While the paint has held up well on this garage-kept car, there are a couple of minor chips and one spot on the driver's quarter panel where something had dropped on it and chipped the paint. The chip was glued back on, but this is something that one might want to touch up for a show-quality finish. The body doesn't appear to have any stress cracks and is in very good condition. The trim is complete, but the chrome on the bumpers needs to be refinished. The driver's door handle works, but it sags a little and probably needs adjustment. Interior- The original interior has held up quite well and is excellent for a driver. The door panels, dash, and seats are very nice and appear to be crack free. There is an aftermarket cassette deck that no longer functions, but is something that most people would replace anyway. There are a couple of imperfections. Sometime long ago the battery exploded, but it was neutralized quickly with baking soda and replaced. Unfortunately, when it blew the lid open, it broke the plastic cover on the seatbelt. This is a part that is reproduced, so it is a minor fix. This also made a couple of punctures in the back of the driver's seat and damaged the carpet. These are items that should be fixed for a show-quality car, but are not seen when the seatback is upright. Mechanicals- The car has 81,000 miles. The motor was replaced about 5000 miles ago with another 350 and runs great. The transmission is a firm shifting Turbo400. The rear suspension was rebuilt with all new U-joints at the same time the motor work was done. It runs, stops, and drives beautifully. Air conditioning isn't working. Color from the trim plate. 81,162 miles. May 20, 2008. |
