Car history: |
1968 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, Polar White, Med Blue interior, Original Matching #s, 427/390hp, Turbo 400 3-speed Automatic, Unmolested Shark, Very Original, Power Steering, Factory am/fm, Original Paint, P-o-P, Owner's Kit, Owner History , California Car.
This 1968 Corvette was originally bought from Les Vogel Chevrolet in San Fransisco by Joseph Baccicco on 2/15/68. The second owner Tresa Strauss, wife of Leon Strauss bought this car from Shumann Chevrolet on 5/6/69 with 9547 miles. The Strauss family owned it until 2002 when it was purchased with 24,520 ORIGINAL miles by Eric Larson in Novato, Ca. The Strauss family stored this Vette from 1984 - 2002. I am in possession of all registrations from Feb 1969 through today. Eric sold the car to Corvette Mike who in turn sold it to Paul Gallow of Louisville with 24,980 miles. Mr Gallow registered the car 1st time on July 23, 2019 (odometer shows 25,311 miles on the reg). I then bought this car in May of 2020 from Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville with 25,351 miles. The originality of the car is unbelievable. It scored NCRS Second Flight in 2015, but missed Top Flight mainly due to operational items. Everything operates as it should and I intend to have it certified Bloomington Gold and NCRS Top Flight, both of which will be easily established.
The current milage is 29000 miles, and I do intend to drive this car. I have done minor maintenance since purchasing it, all the while bringing it to NCRS mechanics who respect the purity of the car, and who wish to see the originality maintained. I have obtained the tank sticker from the car, which was in magnificent condition as you would expect from such a low mileage car. A beautiful example of an unrestored survivor. |
