Car history: |
This 1969 Corvette looks to be a Restored Very Rare Numbers Macthing, ORIGINAL Engine 427ci/400hp engine (original motor it was born with!), Comes with lots of Documentation: Factory Build Sheet, Protecto-Plate, Original owners packet, Plus a number of other Documents and a Video! (see pics). This car is loaded with: Positraction Rear Axle (G81) Stamped AZ (3.55:1 H.D. Positraction w/427) 427ci/400hp (L68), Close Ratio 4-spd manaul transmission (M21), Side Mount Exhaust (N14), Soft Ray Tinted Glass All Windows (AO1), Headrest Seats (A82), Shoulder Seat Belts (A85), Power Steering (N40), and a Am-Fm Radio. This Corvette is finished in a Stunningly Beautiful Riverside Gold (980) exterior paint with a Saddle Leather (421) interior. The interior is beautiful and every gauge works on this car (except odo). Under the hood you will find this car to look great and has its "ORIGINAL" numbers matching 427ci 400hp TRI-POWER bigblock engine, (Engine Stamp, LQ = 427 400HP, Holley 3X2BC & 4-Speed). All 3 Carbs. are original to the car and also have matching numbers. 4-speed close ratio manual transmission (M21). When up on the rack, you can see that this is a very original rust free frame with a beautiful underside. This corvette is nearly as nice on the underside as it is on the outside & inside. This Corvette appears to have never been wrecked and still retains ALL of its ORIGINAL G.M. fiberglass body panels!!! Appears to be a high end older restoration (believe early 90's) on a very low mileage, very nice original corvette. This is the Perfect car for someone looking for a Rare car that is already restored and ready to drive, and it looks, runs and drives excellent! This car is one of the most Beautiful original 1969 Corvette I have seen, even the starter is original! Car is not perfect, The Alternator looks correct but I beleive the GM numbers are not correct for this vehicle. Has a couple very minor chips/scratches from age and minor useage (if you didn't know they were there, you'd probably never see them), had a chip in the front door edge from a broken door stop spring (very common on C3s), Spring was replaced and chip has been repaired but in the right light you can see a very small & minor paint blend area. Not visable in most light. One of the vacuum tees or lines may need to be replaced as the headlight doors and wiper door are a little slow in opening and or closing. Has a vintage replacement AM-FM Stereo cassette radio. Previous owner did not like the idea of having to use fuel additives for the engine to run good, so he had the original heads replaced with a set of correct looking GM heads with hardened valve seats and larger CC (Combustion Chambers). So now the engine runs great on straight pump premium unleaded fuel. Not to worry, THE ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBER & DATED HEADS are wrapped in plastic! Here is some of the history on this 1969 427 400hp Corvette, Sold Brand New on 02-21-69 @ Johnson Chevrolet Co. in Dallas Texas. Stayed in Texas until it was sold by a Corvette Company in Houston Texas on 02-17-94 to the owner (I beleive 3rd owner) in Oregon. They owned the car from 02-17-94 until I bought it a short time ago. I have a statment from the owner in oregon that they drove the car less than a 1000 miles while they owned it. They kept it in heated dry storage, and the car still looks mostly as if it was just restored. Motor suffix code is LQ. 103,112 miles. July 10, 2008. |
