Looking sharp and running strong, this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is as lightly
travelled as any 3rd generation Vette you are likely to come across. The 62k
miles its logged pencil out to just a little more than 100 miles a month! And the
level of originality this classic features is hard to beat. The factory drivetrain is
in place and performs with enthusiasm, and you will find the exterior still decked
out in the same color it rolled out with more than 45 years ago. With its third
generation Vette styling in good form, this is one very sharp looking classic.

A few years before it debuted, Chevy took inspiration from the Mako Shark II
concept car to produce a design so engaging that it was left intact with only
occasional minor modifications for a full 14 years. It's exterior is still clad in its
original Brands Hatch Green. Not just the original color but the original paint
and it is much stronger than you would expect. With its long hood, great curvature,
and the signature gill-like vents on its front and sides, this car caused quite a
stir when it was introduced, and all these years later, its head turning powers
have not diminished in the least.

It remains well-aligned, with nice, even gaps between its body panels, hidden
headlights that sit flush against the hood and level bumpers in front and back.
The side pipes offered during this era are a bold, eye-catching style element
made all the more effective by the clean condition these are in, while the T-top
configuration is equal parts style and functionality - just a couple of quick steps
give you the exhilaration of open air motoring in a car that looks equally impressive
with the panels on or off. While you can see evidence of wear inside on the buckets
and door panels, the tan vinyl interior provides a great driving environment.
Everything remains solidly in place and it's perfectly serviceable as is, but should
you choose to freshen things up, you'll be starting with a very strong framework.
The inspired, aeronautically-inspired dash styling that Corvettes became known
for has a fine representative right here - just beyond the leather-wrapped
steering wheel, there's a full complement of fresh gauges in the cluster, a
straight pad over the top that's free of any splits and the vents to each side
indicate that this true American sports car features factory-installed air conditioning
- a welcome find in a vintage convertible. The tan carpeting running underneath
is still looking strong, with a pair of branded floor mats in place that don't show
much use at all. Raise the hood and you'll be greeted by one seriously clean
engine compartment. A strong running 350-cubic inch V8 sits at the center,
looking sharp with its chrome air cleaner and valve covers and sounding absolutely
awesome as it exhales into its factory headers leading to those sidepipes. The
engine pairs with a 3-speed TH350 transmission to make up an all-original
drivetrain. An impressive collection of surrounding parts has been replaced to
up this Corvette's road-readiness even further, including its water pump, radiator,
gas tank, fuel pump and alternator (most original parts were saved). Smooth
power steering and power disc brakes at all four corners make this Chevy
classic an easy navigator as it takes to the road on a set of 15 inch American
Racing wheels with spinner caps, wrapped with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

Finding a vintage Corvette still in original configuration is no easy proposition
to begin with, and when the car in question features the impressive condition
of this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette, it's downright rare.
