Car history: |
Nut & Bolt restoration of a very original correct numbers matching L71. Time and care was taken into account where all fasteners were removed examined and plated, recolored & reinstalled. This would be approx 90% in all. The remainer were replaced with OEM parts. These would include belts, hoses, bushings, gas tank, fuel pump, brake lines and fuel lines. The original DeWitts copper radiator replaced with a correct Dewitts replacement copper unit. This high optioned L71 was purchased from an estate in Sagaponack, NY, and released when house was sold. The car never left NY since its purchase in 1967. Dealer was from Middle Village NY as shown on the window sticker from the previous owner. The body was removed and all components gone thru and restored. This was not a replacement of parts but a restoration of the original parts. A slow, but worthwill process, it was done when time was available. I have binder of all aspects of this work. The frame was perfect and as the pictures show & clearly stamped with the VIN in all places. This is a very early build date of Oct. 67 as shown on the stamped frame. The rear half shafts still showed the part number in yellow when they were restored. therefore they were re-stenceled as such. All parts are dated from 1967, as the data plate indicates Nov 3, 1967 as the build date. A quick rundown as to parts, New soft top, restored frame, Hardtop with blue liner, Coker F70 WW tires, AG wheels, spare rim, (no tire) real F41 suspension, front and rear Pliacell (oct67) Rear 4:11 (oct67) Three of the 4 T3 headlights remain. Paint, I beleive was repainted once, and still shows very good, but wear in some areas. 7 out 10. There is no way I can list all as it is too extensive. The miles on the odometer show 79,748, but since her restoration the milage is 85. Options as shown:976AA Lemans Blue, 414BP Med Blue vinyl trm, M21 4 spd cl ratio tran, A31 power windows, J50 power brakes, U69 AM/FM radio, PT7F70x15x2 ply W Strp, AOB tinted glass, K66 full transistor IGN, N11 off road exhaust, CO7 AUX TOP, Convert Top White, F41 Spec-Pur Suspension, N40 Power Streeing, G81 Positract Axle 411R, L71 435HP Turbo-Jet V8. 79,748 miles. Colors from the trim plate. Built date is D03. November 26, 2009. |
