This is a beautiful silverstone over black coupe with T-Tops and rear pop out window. The 68' is the first year of this model, and it retained some of the parts from the 1967 year. Experts agree that these early chrome bumper cars are the most collectible of this generation because of the uncluttered, clean lines and performance of the pre-smog era, and that they have not yet come close to their full potential value. As for this car, the body, paint and finish are outstanding. There are no cracks, spiderwebbing or chips. It's never had a single touch up. Every exterior piece, from door handles, lenses, emblems, chrome bumpers, plastic grill, and mirrors and even the antennae have all been replaced with first quality parts. It's barrett jackson quality. The original 350HP 327 block had a crack, it was replaced with a 1971 corvette block and retained the original heads. It's been professionally rebuilt with high performance parts. It's in excellent mechanical shape, front end, coil springs, HD clutch, and breaks have all been replaced. The gas tank and heater core were replaced. It has factory AC and PW. The hide away headlights and windshield wiper cowl work. The dash and door panels are perfect, not everything else is, but it's much better than average. Most of it is original, including steering wheel, seat belts, lap belts, and t-top covers. Most of the weather stripping including the window felts have been replaced. It has the original "astro ventilation" glass. The power windows were serviced, they operate smoothly, and when doors close, you don't hear rattles. It now haves a specialty radio, but the factory AM/FM set also. All gauges, the clock, seatbelt light, door ajar light and interior lights work. Some of the fiber optic lights also work. The AC does not work, but all parts are intact. 140,000 miles.
