Car history: |
Up for sale is a very presentable 1973 Corvette with the rear chrome bumpers. I am selling this car for my neighbor. He bought it this past April and decided it is just not for him. He purchased it from a friend who had inherited it from his uncle. This car was purchase originally by the uncle out West where it spent most of it's life. It had 1 accident where it was hit in the right front and was repaired. The repair was fare. The color match was great but has a run on the body line. It did not come out in the picture so I did not post. This is a mostly original car. The distributor was changed for an updated one so the Tach now does not work. I will list the good and the bad so you can decide.
The Good Engine runs great and has actually only 46,800 miles on it but the odometer now shows 56,594. This is a replacement speedometer as noted on the speedometer back. These are original miles
The trans is a turbo 350 and shifts and runs flawlessly. Engine starts and runs very strong with no smoke or oil burn. Tires are brand new with less than 1000 miles on them. This is a numbers matching car. Exhaust is in very good condition. Front and rear brakes have plenty of miles left on them. All gauges except the tach work fine.
Very straight car that would be a very easy project to bring back to excellent quality and drive while in the process.
T-Tops that do not leak in the rain.
The not so good The paint as seen in the pictures needs a new coat. This will not buff out. It is the original paint. Inside carpet definitely needs to be replaced. Door panels show some curl at the edges but are still very presentable. The dash pad needs to be replaced. The seats are in good condition without rips or tears.
The brakes could use a good bleed. Might need a new master. He said the pedal will go to the floor after sitting but will pump up and work. I would definitely have it checked.
All in all this is a very nice 1973 all numbers matching original car. It has not been butchered or modified. It is available to see and drive. It is registered, tagged and insured. He drives it on weekends when the weather is nice.
I reserve the right to end this auction at any time because it is available locally.
I will entertain a Buy it Now for the right offer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Jul-30-12 at 07:32:33 PDT, seller added the following information:
It has been pointed out to me that some items are not original to the car. The alternator is a re-manufactured unit per the blue sticker. The radio is not original since it has a cassette player and the wheels are from a 1976 or later model. As stated the distributor is also not original. By "numbers matching" I was going by the original engine, trans, rear and body. Engine components that generally get replaced on a car of this vintage are typical and should be expected. I am sorry if I mislead anyone. I take pride in my listings and being honest about them. If you have any questions please ask and I will either tell you or get the answer for you. Anyone is more than welcome to come see the car, which I do recommend. eBay Item number: 130739748978 |
