1968 Corvette 4-speed Convertible. Restored 2 years ago and driven less than 500 miles since.
Restoration included: new paint, new front and rear bumpers, bumper guards, L-88 hood, grille, front turn signals, taillight lenses, rear license plate frame, outside mirror, emblems and trim rings. The frame is original and rust free. The paint looks good from a short distance, but is starting to show some age as there are some areas starting to bubble and some cracking. New GM 350 crate engine with polished headers, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and HEI ignition. The engine has a chrome dress up kit. The 4 speed manual transmission and posi-traction rear end have been rebuilt. It has a new clutch, pressure plate and shifter. The car has new dual side mounted exhaust. A new convertible top and rear window has been installed. In addition to the top, new pads, straps, cables, chrome tips, and weatherstripping where installed. The convertible top frame was sand blasted and re-painted. New deck lid bezels, latches, and rods have been installed. It has four new B/F Goodrich 245-60-R15 Radial T/A tires. New carpet, seat covers, seat cushions, seat backs, door panels, dash, instrument cluster bezel, lenses, weather-stripping, door sills, vent balls, brake and clutch pads, console, rear view mirror, sun visors, kick panels, turn signal lever, hazard flasher button, shifter boot, ash tray door, fiber optic plate and window cranks have been installed. A new Kenwood AM/FM/CD with an iPod connection has also been installed. The car has all new calipers, rotors, brake pads, brake hoses, power brake booster, and parking brakes shoes. New rear axle outer u-joints have been installed. It has new speedometer, tachometer and emergency brake cables. The tachometer has been rebuilt and re-calibrated. A new battery has been installed (May 2011). It has a new wiper motor, relay, and wiper switch.
Known issues: Windshield wipers not functioning, drive train vibration over 60 mph, unknown electrical issue drains battery when parked, carburetor float bowl leaks after the engine has been running which floods the intake system (probably needs new gaskets due to being in storage).
