Car history: |
The engine and transmission seem fine. It runs without any noticeable issues. The timing is off a little. originally a 350 car and thats whats in it but its not the original engine. Transmission seems solid too. It has the original M21 4-speed in it. I replaced the entire fuel system from the tank to the fuel pump to the carb. All brand new. Also pulled the plugs and replaced them and didn't see anything plus the plug wires. Also has a new alternator. Car is complete except the wheels are not original. Open headers. I think it had side pipes. As far as the body, someone put a ZL1 kit on it at some point in the past (quarter flares and a spoiler). Overall condition of the body isn't bad. It has some cracks at the edges of the rear wheel wells. Passenger side door needs a new door skin. There is some damage to the front clip. I was told a lift gate from a straight truck fell on it. Looks like it. The paint is cracking and coming off. Frame is solid. Birdcage looks good. I was under the car and checked the entire frame and there is no cancer or weak spots that I could find. Windshield is broken. Power windows don't work and only one light turns on. Looks worse than it really is. It has t-tops. All damage is shown in the pictures so if you see something that looks like a crack, it's just paint cracking and falling off. An example is the driver side front fender. There's no damage there. Just paint coming off. The only real rust is on the bottom of the radiator support and it's just starting to separate on the back edge. The crossmember under it has no rust. If you replace the passenger door skin and the two rear wheel wells back to original, that should cover the body. On the front, the crossmember on the top just in front of the hood needs reconnected on both sides. Do that, sand it, touch up a nick here or there and you're ready for paint. The body shop told me they can fix everything and have it in primer for about $1000. So as I said, it looks worse than it is. Suspension and breaks seem fine. I moved it around in my driveway but plan on a trailer to take it home. It's not roadworthy. The car was originally in North Carolina its entire life until 2007. I have a clean PA title for it. If it doesn't sell, I'll just put it under a tarp and come back to it later. These things are getting hard to find these days, especially a 4-speed car. So please only bid if you have the money and actually intend on buying it. Registered in North Carolina until 2007. If you look at the VIN you can see it was the 30,546 car to roll off the line so it's a late 69. Not many options but when was the last time you saw a 69 4-speed that wasn't a half done car for $20k. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is N24. $1,725 and running with no reserve. September 8, 2015. |
