Freshly restored 1968 Corvette Convertible. The vehicle has the 327/350HP (L-79) package, the Muncie 4-Speed trans. It is equipped with power windows. The car is a matching numbers, 99% original vehicle. Items such as carburetor, starter and alternator have been replaced and do not match OEM castings. I recieved the car in original condition in 2007, and immediately began the restoration. The body was removed, frame was disassembled, all parts blasted and painted. The original intention was to drive this car into retirement and as a result I spared no expense, every nut, bolt, bracket, piece of rubber was replaced. After a fairly exhaustive research period I began to purchase pieces and re-assemble the vehicle in accordance with the original 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Assembly Manual, the same one Chevy techs used in 68. Every surface and detail was attended to, as I did not foresee myself ever doing this depth of work on the same vehicle again. The result of almost non-stop work over an 18 month period is what you see. This car runs and drives like a brand new 1968 Corvette, it is very tight and crisp. No rattles, shimmies, shakes, etc. The vehicle has been extensively documented, hundreds of photographs of the restoration, original documents such as the Owner's Manual, factory build sheet, original keys, original hard top, all reciepts for work and parts, etc are included. Major parts replaced were kept for verification of authenticity, also included. All casting numbers on engine, trans and rear end match. To the maximum extent possible, factory replacement items (or duplications) were used in the rebuild. Correct vaccum hose kits, fuel lines and fuel line clips and bolts, brake lines and hoses, etc. Looking closely you will notice side pipe covers, they are OEM 1969 models, factory original survivors. Very rare. 90,000 miles. Colors from the owner. March 20, 2009. |
