BEAUTIFUL 1970 CORVETTE STINGRAY COUPE. This is truly a one of a kind Corvette, in SHOW CAR condition with matching numbers, VIN, engine, transmission and rear end numbers match and are all the ones originally installed on the car when it left the factory. The engine is the L46 350cu / 350 hp with a M20 Muncie 4 Speed which is the most desirable engine / transmission combination available in this car. The 350 engine is much lighter than the big heavy 454, which makes the car handle much better and has about the same horsepower as the 454! This entire suspension has been rebuilt, including brand new gears in the rear end, new trailing arms and wheel bearings, new springs front and rear, all new front suspension and power brakes, including Hawk pads, rotors and wheel cylinders, power steering also rebuilt. New 3/4" sway bar on the front and new 1/2 inch sway bar on the back for improved handling. All suspension work was done by VanSteel Corvettes in Clearwater, FL, known for excellent suspension work. Tires are new Firestone Indy's, ride is great on the car, not to harsh, not too soft. The engine has recently had the heads completely rebuilt, using all new valves, valve springs and push rods. The ignition was rebuilt and a new carburator, water pump and fuel pump was installed. The interior is in excellent condition, with tilt/telescope steering column and leather wrapped original Corvette steering wheel. The seats were redone with factory leather, with new foam inserts to make them very comfortable. The radio / stereo is new and is made for Corvette C3's, with 50 watts per channel, sounds great! The car was repainted in the factory original Mulsanne Blue with Dupont base clearcoat, all carpet and weatherstripping was also replaced. The body is very sound and the fit and the seams in the fiberglass are very good, much better than most C3's. All new stock Corvette aluminized dual exhaust system all the way back. The prior owner owned the car 11 years and it was always garaged here in Florida. I have owned the car 2 years so this is not like many of these cars that change hands every couple of years and you don't know what has been done to them. This car looks, handles and drives like a Corvette should! The motors were detuned from 1970 on, down to only a 9.5 compression ratio, so you won't get the performance you will get out of this car. I have over $50K invested in this car and I have supervised all the work done by outside repair shops. Many of these older Corvettes appear to be in good condition but have serious problems and it takes a lot of time and effort in addition to money to make them right if it is even possible. I have all the records and supporting documentation on the restoration done to this car, including tank sticker. 48,000 miles. November 5, 2009. |
