I PURCHASED THIS CAR ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO WITH THE INTENTIONS OF RESTORING IT, SINCE IT HAD SUCH A GREAT BODY AND WAS A MATCHING NUMBERS CAR. THIS CAR LITERALLY CAME OUT OF A BARN IN TAZWELL, VIRGINIA, WHERE IT WAS PARKED IN 1998. THE ENGINE HAD BEEN REBUILT BEFORE IT WAS PARKED. SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, I HAVE REPLACED OR REBUILT THE FOLLOWING: CARBURETOR, NEW STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE CALLIPERS, CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE, THROW OUT BEARING, TIRES, AND NEW GAS. THE CAR HAS A SUPER STRAIGHT BODY WHICH FITS AS GOOD AS ANY 1969 COUPE YOU WILL FIND. ALL BONDING STRIPS ARE INTACT (YOU CAN ALSO STILL FEEL BOTH NOTCHES IN BOTH FRONT FENDERS, AS WELL). THE CAR COULD STAND TO BE PAINTED, BUT COULD BE TOUCHED UP, COLOR SANDED, AND BUFFED, TO MAKE A DRIVER. WITH THE BODY THIS CAR HAS, ALONG WITH THE OPTIONS AND THE MATCHING NUMBERS, THIS CAR DESERVES TO BE RESTORED! OPTIONS: FACTORY 4-SPEED, FACTORY AIR (COMPRESSOR AND BRACKETS MISSING), POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, AND THE 390 HP ENGINE. THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION ARE BOTH ORIGINAL TO THE CAR, NOT RESTAMPS. THE TANK STICKER IS STILL ON TOP OF THE TANK, BUT IS TOO DETERIORATED TO REMOVE. THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS FATHOM GREEN, WITH STANDARD BLACK INTERIOR. THE INTERIOR WILL ALSO NEED SOME ATTENTION. THE DOOR PANELS ARE IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE, ALONG WITH THE DASH - NO RIPS OR CRACKS. THE SEAT COVERS AND CARPET WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FRAME IS ROCK SOLID WITH NO SIGN OF RUST WHATSOEVER.
