Car history: |
Here is a 1968 Corvette Convertible factory Big Block project car. This 68 Big Block car is missing the original engine and there is no tank sticker, but the car has all of the other original Big Block features, including the 6500 redline tach, single fuel line, large front sway bar, rear sway bar, caps on the half shafts, 7 leaf rear spring, the original numbers matching M21 4spd, and the original code FB 4.11 rear. Everything points to it having been a L71 427/435 car. The odometer shows 41,917 miles, but the title shows 141,917. In my opinion, the true milage is unknown. The car has had modifications done to the body over the years and it has some serious rear fender flares. It also has what appears to be a 70-72 press molded front clip, but there are no openings for the headlights. They are not glassed over, this front clip never had the openings. Makeshift headlights have been placed in the grille area. It has an L88 style hood and the wiper door has been eliminated. The frame is in great condition, and the windshield frame is in great condition also. The soft top is included, and it does not appear that this car ever had a hardtop. Most of the interior is rough. The speedo/tach dash panel is in good condition, as is the passenger side dash panel. The top dash pad has cracks. There is one rough drivers seat included. The windshield has a stone chip and some deep gouges. The 68 Big Block car is an early car with the build date on the trim plate being B12, which makes it a Sept. 1967 car. The VIN also verifies this. The original exterior color was 974 Rally Red, and the original interior color was STD black vinyl. It appears to have the original AM/FM radio. It has regular steering and brakes. The 68 Big Block car has a clear title in my name. The 68 Big Block car rolls with no problem. 41,917 miles. Avril 21, 2009. |
