2) What a beautiful example of a gorgeous C3 Corvette with a rebuild last year of the 327 motor, numbers matching engine and 4-speed transmission. Complete with a protecto plate, owners manuals, documentation of build, even vintage Corvette magazines to boot! Please see the VIN and data plate decode at the bottom. The vehicle sits and looks very straight, the doors and lines all line up, the engine sounds awesome. The vehicle has a brand new battery. The vehicle has been recently repainted Lemans Blue and has had the engine rebuilt in 2014. The vehicle has the proper markings and last 6 digits of the VIN stamped on the block which means this vehicle was born with this engine. The interior, chrome and all minor details on this car are all in great shape. Beautiful Lemans Blue exterior with recent repaint Awesome good as new black interior. Headlights, electronics all work fine. Beautiful Corvette rims with raised letter tires. Clean underside and clean, solid frame. Newer corvette shifter. Original owners manuals. Original sale invoice. This is a solid example of a 1968 with it being the last year of the 327 motor. The fact that it is a numbers matching car makes it that much nicer and more collectible. Trim: STD = Black vinyl. Paint: 976 = Le Mans Blue. Numbers stamped on engine block: V0117HT Engine assembly plant: V= Flint, Michigan.Engine was assembled in January, day 17. iN $39,800 but no bid at starting $28,000 on January 28, 2017. 1) THE TITLE I HAVE IS THE ORIGINAL TITLE IN THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME. IT IS OPEN AND CAN BE SIGNED OVER TO THE NEW OWNER WITH NO PROBLEM. I DID NOT TITLE THE CAR IN MY NAME BECAUSE I BELIEVE LEAVING THE TITLE IN THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME ADDS VALUE TO THIS CAR. REALLY ORIGINAL ONE OWNER #'S MATCHING 327 350 HP 4SPD 1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE. IT'S BEEN IN INSIDE STORAGE FOR OVER 30 YEARS. ALL PAPERWORK INCLUDING ORIGINAL NJ TITLE, PROTECTO PLATE AND COPY OF ORIGINAL INVOICE STILL IN THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME. I BOUGHT THIS CAR A FEW YEARS BACK AS AN INVESTMENT. WHEN I GOT THE CAR I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO TURN OVER SO I SENT IT TO MY FRIENDS SHOP AND THEY REBUILT THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND ALSO INSTALLED A NEW CLUTCH SETUP AND ALL NEW CALIPERS AT THE SAME TIME. I WAS GOING TO JUST REPLACE THE EXHAUST WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK AND USE IT AS A DAILY DRIVER BUT NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT. BODY: UN HIT STILL RETAINS 90 per cent OF ITS ORIGINAL PAINT (NEEDS NEW), RUST FREE WINDSHIELD FRAME AND DOG HOUSE. THE ONLY RUST I HAVE FOUND ON THE CAR WAS IN THE UPPER PART OF THE DOORS, I HAVE A NICE PAIR OF 68 ONLY DOORS THAT GO WITH THE CAR. FRAME: NICE NO SIGN OF ROT, ONLY SURFACE RUST FROM BEING STORED INSIDE A GARAGE FOR 30 YEARS. INTERIOR: IT'S ALL THERE AND ORIGINAL BUT I WOULD REPLACE. ENGINE: ORIGINAL ENGINE, REBUILT WITH ZERO MILES. TRANS: ORIGINAL MUNCIE M20. EXHAUST: NEEDS NEW. BRAKES: ALL NEW PADS AND CALIPERS. CHROME: ORIGINAL AND NEEDS NEW. TOPS: 2 TOPS ONE HARD AND ONE SOFT. SOFT TOP IS OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE OWNERS HAD AN AFTER MARKET AC UNIT INSTALLED WHERE THE TOP WOULD SET. I HAVE REMOVED MOST OF THE UNIT EXCEPT THE MAIN UNIT WHICH SETS IN THE COMPARTMENT BEHIND THE SEAT, SEE PICTURES. NOTHING WAS DAMAGED INSTALLING THIS AC UNIT AND ONCE IT IS REMOVED YOU WILL REALLY NEVER KNOW IT WAS THERE. ALL IN ALL A SUPER ORIGINAL 1968 L79 CONVERTIBLE WITH LOTS OF GOOD DOCUMENTATION. IT NEEDS A COSMETIC RESTORATION BUT MECHANICALLY IT HAD MOST OF THE WORK ALREADY COMPLETED. 76,000 miles. February 19, 2010. |
