Car history: |
1) 1972 Corvette Coupe 350 original motor with an automatic transmission. The motor is the original stock motor with correct heads, intake, carb, exhaust. I am 99 per cent sure the trans and rear are also the original matching numbers correct for the car. The car sat for a few years and I decided to rescue the car. The body is straight and never hit car, as far as I can tell. It wears a repaint in the original color of 979 Targa Blue. The interior is Blue with Black Carpet. I have changed oil and filter with quality oils and added some ZDDP additive, as the engine was rebuilt years ago, but has limited miles on it. The more I run it the better is runs and it pulls very well. I have also changed all drive belts and thermostat and air filter and have put new valve cover gaskets on. I have also rebuilt the Rochester Carburettor by a professional Corvette Carb Restorer. I have also reconditioned all the vinyl interior and all vinyl pieces and have deep cleaned the carpet. I have also installed new weather stripping around windows. The Weather Stripping has been replaced where I thought it was necessary. The shocks were replaced by the previous owner and were upgraded with Bilstein Shocks and also Stainless Steel Calipers. A New Premium Battery has also been installed. Brakes have been checked and flushed with new fluid and bleeding has been done. The left rear caliper did not bleed correctly, so it should be looked at, but the car stops fine, pedal is a bit soft, as a result of air probably trapped in the left rear caliper. Brakes should be bled again. Trans fluid has also been changed. The car has the stock dual exhaust with the stock exhaust manifolds. The exhaust is in good shape with no appearant leaks and sounds great, not too loud inside but a nice rumble out back. The exterior paint has its share of paint bubbles and marks and chipped and or peeling paint. Car looks really good from 10 feet, but really to be a really nice example a paint job would do it. The hood needs buffing out the most, but tghe entire car would benefit from a detailed buffing. The car looks good in person and will get you complements. The Chrome is in decent shape and has a decent shine. Tires are older BFG Radial TA's in decent shape with little mileage on them. They are a harder tire and have sat for a while. This is a car that can be driven now and the small items that still need attention can be looked at as you are driving it. Some minor items that need fixing if it bothers you are the oil pressure gauge was not hooked up after the motor was rebuilt. The turn signal stalk is broken, but it is there it just doesn't work. Headlights go up and down perfectly with No issues. Wiper door is stuck partially open and will need to be fixed for the wipers to work and park correctly, usually just the limiter adjustment under the hood. I will try an fix prior to the end of the auction. The is a small crack in the windshield at the base on the drivers side, it is not in your fiels of view and never bothered me. The AC is there, but does not work and I havent looked at it so not sure what is good or bad. Radio is the stock AM/FM radio and works. The dual speakers in the dash are good and are aftermarket Kenwood units and they work fine, so no need to replace them. The reserve is very low. I have tons of paperwork, includeing the original 1972 Owners Service Manual. The original paperwork goes back several owners and approximtely 30 years. $9,100 (RnM) on November 13, 2017. |
