GREAT-LOOKING RED MUSCLE CAR FOR THE COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST TO ENJOY! FACTORY OPTIONS: Power steering, Power disc brakes, 4 speed Manual transmission, Tilt/telescoping steering column. Upgraded L-88 hood Vehicle comes from NC. It has been owned by the previous owner for the last couple of years. The car had an older restoration sometime during the mid-late 90s that included bodywork/paint, interior, and some mechanical freshening to a nice high-end driver quality vehicle. Since then it has been stored in doors and well cared for, as well as serviced regularly as needed. I met the owner last year in NC at Lowes motor speedway for their classic car show when he was asking close to $20k for it, but never sold it. This year he lost his job so I ended up with it and can offer it for sale at a very realistic price. Under the hood lies a mildly built 350ci motor with 4 speed manual transmission (I believe it's an M-21 because of the close shifting action but not sure exactly). Motor has headers and NEW dual exhaust with Flowmaster style mufflers that sound great, and perhaps some internal modifications for which I do not have the complete details. Transmission has a Hurst shifter with short-throw action and shifts great. Interior is in VERY GOOD condition throughout. Seats are nice, with NO rips. Carpet is fairly clean. Door panels very good with minor wear. Dash is very nice as well, missing the little pocket on the passenger side. Overall it is very presentable and cleans up very well as you can see in the pictures. Mechanically the car is nearly TURN-KEY and runs/drives great. Lots of factory power and great on the road. Brakes stop VERY WELL although pedal is a little spongy and steering is nice and responsive without too much play in the wheel. The steering column is a little loose so it may need the steering knuckle tightened a bit. Not much more I can say about this car, it's really a good, solid looker and great performance wise. Very quick and moves with ease, with a great exhaust sound (exhaust is NEW all around). Transmission shifts great and there are NO noise coming from the rear end. Carburetor acts up at times, but get a new one and this will be one very quick Corvette that zips through the streets like a bat out of hell! Underside is ROCK SOLID with very nice birdcage, frame rails, windshield pillar posts etc. All appears to be very solid throughout from what I could see. No evidence of prior accidents or patch work from my initial inspection. This being a nearly 40 year old car, it is NOT perfect anymore. Here's a list of small things needing attention. Paint cleans up very well with normal chips/small scratches/small dings etc. as you would expect. Some minor stress cracks here and there and slight checking in a few areas. Missing: spare tire. Not working: clock, horn, a couple of the smaller gauge panel gauges may not read accurately, wipers. Steering column is a little loose and will need the knuckle to be tightened. Brakes a little spongy but stop the car very well. Carburetor could use a little adjustment and/or rebuild as it feels like it's starving for fuel at times, especially when cold. Side mirror glass needs replacing. 86,243 miles. October 3, 2008. |
