Car history:
I bought this in September of 2005, I pulled it out of a field in a town just south of Louisville KY. It was a totaled frame, it had never been hit, it was just rusted straight through. The motor was gone, a 350 LT1 is what I believe was stock in it. I know it was a 350, just not sure of the HP package.
The Good.. Completely rebuilt frame, used a 78 donor that was handpicked and perfect. Never repaired or cut.. Completely striped, treated and repainted.. All bushings were replaced, the rear spring was replaced with one that had been stripped down and refinished with new plastic bushings. All new body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts. The motor: 396 325hp motor from a 65 Chevelle (according to the castings) GM HI Perf heads. Fully rebuilt, line bored, honed, hatched, fluxed block. Heads were decked, new valves, seals, stems, rods, headbolts. GM truck cam. March serpentine pulley system, polished. New alternator, starter, long water pump, electric fan and griffen aluminum radiator.
Holley 750 CFM Carb with elect choke, New HEI distributor with manual/electric tach outputs. Transmission: M21 new slip yoke, new u joints and shaft. Suspension and Brakes: New/Rebuilt calipers, wheel bearings, carriers, rotors. HD Big Block Springs. Monroe Sport Shocks. Interior: Nice dash, no cracks or wear marks. All refinished/new gauges. Speedo/tach refinished from VolVette. New Fuel, oil p and Water T from Mid America Vette. Refinished 84 Corvette Seats with high bolsters. New Carpet, 80 2 door parcel tray and doors. Exterior: 2003 BMW m3 Titanium pearl paint job 7/10, Rear side pipe panel smoothed and bonded in, Front Headlight buckets smoothed over, Billet 2 piece grill, New front bumper, Driver condition Rear bumpers, Original Rally wheels and rings with extra center caps.
The BAD: The paint is not all that it could be, there are some thin spots and some scratches... The Ttops need to be refinished as they do not match. There is a long hood on the car, I have a short hood and a functioning wiper cowl. Needs a new wiper motor. Could use new door panels, but these look okay they just need screws to hold them on. The headlight buckets are there. Original 3 piece grill is there. All 8 side louvers. Driver Condition rear bumpers. NO bumperettes (never had them, never bought any). Original Taillights, (nice condition driver for sure)
Part of the Fiber optics sys doesn't work. Have original radio, no speakers though or factory amp. New gauges Water/oil/amp are not hooked up.
Last notes: Everything I did to this car, I kept in mind that it needed to be able to return to stock easily, the headlights are the most difficult thing. Colors from the owner. August 4, 2008.
