Posted 06/25/2019 This is an original California Stingray purchased from an older gentleman in Los Angeles for which we have preformed a mostly cosmetic restoration. EXTERIOR The straight no-hit body lines were repainted in two stage with a color sand and buff. Of course, 1976 Corvettes were not available in black from the factory: but they should have been! So, everything was taken off for the respray and then reinstalled with all four new emblems, new door handles (with new gaskets), new reproduction tail lights, new reproduction front air dam and all new weather stripping (door mains, front and rear pillars plus T-tops.) We also replaced the polyurethane bumpers with fiberglass reproductions so they are straight as an arrow! New tires are installed on optional slotted aluminum wheels polished to a mirror like finish: adding new wheel caps, emblems and lug nuts too! The headlights and wipers are fully functional. INTERIOR The interior is fresh with new reproduction deluxe door panels with new door pulls, reproduction seat covers, carpet, new reproduction top dash pad, reproduction door sill plates, new chrome vent balls, and reproduction rear compartment door assembly: there is not a rip, split, tear, hole or crack anywhere to be seen! All of the gauges work except for the clock (clocks were installed in Corvettes for you know what time they left the factory.) The original stereo remains in place but we upgraded to a discreetly installed Bluetooth amp which automatically plays music from any smartphone. We've also installed a new set of Lloyd's custom Corvette floor-mats which dresses the interior nicely. MECHANICALS The motor compartment has been freshly detailed and looks beautiful. The rebuilt motor with a rebuilt carburetor and new reproduction vacuum lines, runs well and passed emissions testing without a hitch. We also dressed the motor with upgraded factory original polished aluminum valve covers as well new suspension mud flaps, under-hood insulation and an air cleaner intake accordion baffle. We replaced all belts/ hoses: plus did a complete fluids change and tune-up (wires and plugs) as preventative maintenance. Four new stainless steel sleeved brake calipers with new pads have been installed as well a new master cylinder and power brake booster. Of note: the A/C compressor still clicks but the system will need a recharge to blow cold. Thank you for taking the time to look at this Stingray we've passionately preserved.
