Car history: |
This is my Cortez Silver 1970 Corvette convertible and I have clear title for the car. My wife and I purchased this car over a year ago and it has performed flawlessly for us. This Cortez Silver Vette looks gorgeous, runs great, drives great, stops straight and all the hard (and expensive) work has been done. The previous owner did most of the restoration. We have only shown this Corvette twice and won Best Corvette and a second place against NCRS quality cars. MECHANICALS: It has its original numbers matching 350 300hp engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power windows and manual disc brakes. The odometer shows 38,538 miles. I cannot confirm these are the original miles and neither could the previous owner. I had the car thoroughly checked by an expert mechanic and Corvette enthusiast and he was amazed how well the car ran and drove. Amazingly, the car still has its original (and numbers matching) alternator! The car DOES NOT over heat, stall or have hesitation. It runs strong and accelerates smoothly. Front and rear suspension (including rear trailing arms) were replaced by the previous owner. New break and exhaust system. All new gaskets, hoses (correct GM). The gas tank was replaced and I have the original tank sticker, but there is little left to it. I have a book with receipts about an inch thick of all the mechanical work done on the car. All receipts will go with the car. EXTERIOR: Paint is gorgeous and shines beautifully. Lines are as straight as you will find on any show C3 Corvette. Front fenders and rear quarters are original and I found no evidence of accident damage. Convertible top and back window are perfect and the top fits just as they should. I believe the top has been replaced. Chrome front and rear bumpers and bright and clear with no rust. All emblems have been replaced and shine as new. Glass all around is clear and looks fine. Tires are new and correct for the car. Trim rings shine like a mirror. Frame is solid as is the support under the radiator is fine. INTERIOR: Seat upholstery (including cushions) were replaced by the previous owner and are like new. Dash pad and console are beautiful. Nothing cracked, torn or worn. Door panels are original and in good shape. The arm rest plastic on the right door panel is a little loose and needs to be re-attached into shape. Nothing cracked. All gauges and dash lights work. Radio is a replacement on but the original one will go with the car. VACuUM ACCESSORIES: Headlight doors and wiper cover work just as they should. New headlight actuators have been installed. LIGHTS: Headlights, high beams, taillights, back-up lights and signals work fine. Headlights are correct GM T3 and are not reproduction. Colors from the owner. Built date is C08. 38,538 miles. October 17, 2009. |
