An important information from Jett Vettes LLC (404-379-7405): this company owns the original motor of this car. The motor of this car was originally a 350/350 and the gearbox, a M21 option. This car is also born with power steering. Motor suffix code is HW. March 11, 2010. 2) 62,868 miles from the odometer (Odometer probably broken). December 12, 2009. 1) 1969 Corvette L71, Originally a 427/435 BB (NOM), Tri-Power, 4 spd, Daytona Yellow 984, Black Interior ZQ4. Please go to www.automotivesteroids.com for a complete breakdown of the restoration and modification of this Corvette. Lots of pictures. I have owned this Corvette since 1997, I spent 4 years restoring the car including a complete frame off restoration. This included sandblasting and powder coating the frame, replacing the rocker channels with new larger gauge steel. The Corvette was an original 427/435 car, the original engine was blown and replaced back in 2000. The original block was discarded in 1998 due to a lack of storage for a large big block and heads that were useless. At the time a L71 was not sought after like it is now. The tri power was sold in 2001. The power now comes from a 540cid BB. My intent was for the car to look from the outside as original as possible, aside from the Rims. The suspension has been completly upgraded including a rack and pinion steering system. This car drives miles ahead of what rolled off the show room floor, it now has the handling, stoping, and acceleration like a new super car. The car is an absolute rocket and is completly stable at speeds in excess of 150mph. The handling and drivability of this car truly tell how much time and effort went into the build. The Corvette is currently set up with the Exhaust running under the car with one of a kind modified Hooker SuperComp Headers and runs out the back in the center. Some of the pictures show the Corvette running the Hooker Header Side exhaust system. The Hooker Header Side exhaust is no longer attached. However, you can simply bolt on the Hooker Header system if you like, the current undercar system is completly removable.
