Car history: |
1979 L-82 Chevy Corvette 350 bored .030 over, 4-speed manual, Holley Carb, Hooker Headers.
I`ve wanted one of these cars for years, finally when I got one, life does a 180 and I'm moving to CA.
The car runs great, I've drove it for hours without a glitch, except the vibration that at this point i`m asuming comes from the clutch or pressure plate.
This is one of those cars that makes me smile when I ride in it.
-engine rebuilt by previous owner, about 5k miles on it. + clutch ( by previous owner too) -new brakes, brake lines and rebuilt calipers ( by previous owner) -new exhaust from the header`s back, 2 independent pipes (previous owner) -new shocks (previous owner) -new water pump -new thermostat (180F performance high flow) -new electric fan (took the old clutch fan out) -new radiator hoses -new distributor + coil + wires + spark plugs -new harmonic balancer -refurbished wilcox half shaft ( had bad u-joints) -changed posi fluid with GM posi fluid + additive -birdcage and floorpans striped to bare metal, treated with chassis saver (same as por-15) -new weather strip for doors and t-tops (not installed yet, purchased from Wilcox) -new heater core.
If I had my way in life and was keeping the car, I would -fix a vibration that I suspect comes from the clutch or pressure plate... -switch all rubber bushings to make the ride tighter. -fix odds and ends that previous owners neglected or didn`t do the job properly. -reconnect backup lights (i guess this is important, but since I was working on the car.. wasn`t a priority yet). All cables are there, they where cut from the transmision probably when rebuilding the engine and never reconnected -fix loose battery connection at the starter terminal -fix rust in the rocker channel... it rusted since the previous owner rode it without the wheel well liner. This is a bit bigger of a job than I'm not ready to tackle.
Car is sold AS IS with no warranties. This doesn`t mean the car is a lemon, but is almost 30 yrs old car, and I'm sure you'll find things to work on.
