Numbers matching 1969 Corvette 4-Speed that is an excellent driver. The car looks great, runs great, and is a blast to drive. The low mileage is supported by the clear Ohio title, showing the mileage as "actual." Please peruse all of the photos and numbers below to get a true sense of how clean and nice this Corvette really is. Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly. Exterior: The black exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Often Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not. The underside of the front end, a very fragile part of the car, is in great condition as evidenced by the photos. The chrome bumpers and other bight work on the car looks to be in good driver condition with no notable rust or pitting. The alignment of the front edge of the hood is not perfect, there is a specific photo of the area below. There are no major imperfections that have been excluded from the photos. There are some small cracks and other blemishes that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really stands out from five or ten feet away. The tires are in nice shape with about 80% tread left. Please note that all of the glass on this car is original. The windshield, "Astro Ventilation" door glass, and even the pop-out rear window are date coded and correct as each piece predate the car's body build date of July 2, 1969 (L02). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage. Interior: The interior of this Corvette is in good condition. The seats are not overly worn and look in person just as they do in the photos. The carpet is also in excellent condition with no stains, tears, or holes. This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected. The door panels are in good condition and, unlike many Corvettes of this age, they fit well to the door. The car has not been smoked in, there are no burn marks or aroma what so ever. The t-top storage bags are also included with the car. Mechanical: This car is in good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, idles well, runs well. This Corvette is a nice driver that is smooth on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are responsive. Also, the engine compartment is nicely detailed as one can see in the photos. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. The clutch feels good. The shifter works okay and is totally functional, but it seems like it could use some adjustments and service overall. Sometimes it takes a bit of extra effort to get the car into and out of reverse. It does have some play in the steering. It looks like the car could also benefit from an alignment. There is a crack on the underside of the hood above the prop. The fan for the heater works on all settings. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The vacuum for the headlights works as both lights pop up with the headlight switch or override switch as they should. The wiper door also works, but is a bit temperamental and could also use some attention. There are a few items on the car that are not functional including the horn, manual vent controls, and fiber optics. The parking brake also feels a bit weak. This car is a pleasure to drive, especially with the 4-Speed transmission and the t-tops out on a nice day. Overall Condition: Overall, this 1969 Corvette is in great driver condition. It is a great value. This car turns heads and gets ton of attentions wherever it goes. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible in the entire Corvette market right now. Of those years, the 1969 and 1972 are the most desirable. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. The "Chrome Bumper" years have not had the detrimental over inflation that the mid year Corvettes have suffered from. They are all solid investments for a collector.
