Car history: |
2) This is a beautiful car that I've owned since August, 2015. The car was restored by a previous owner, and has since enjoyed a sheltered life of mostly Sunday drives and the occassional car show. I have clear title to the car and documentation that includes the tank sticker, protectoplate, as well as a photo album that documents the car's frame-off restoration. Details from the tank sticker include: - M20 4-speed (matching numbers) - 3:36 rear end (matching numbers) - Trim - 024140A - MED/BLUE VINYL - Engine - O2L36AA - 390HP TURBO-JET V8 (L36 427/390HP V8 engine) - Axle - O2G81HA - POSITRACT AXLE 3:36 - Transmission - 02M21AA - 4-SPD CL RATIO TRAN I believe the car has its original engine, and do so for the following reasons: the block code on the rear of the engine reads 3935439, which is the code for a big block V8, 1968-1969, 427, 2-bolt or 4-bolt. As the last twp photos indicate, you can also make out the numbers 2, 3, 0, and 8 on the front of the block where the partial VIN is located. This is consistent with the final sequence of the car's VIN - 23608. There is a space between the 3 and 0, presumably where the 6 is located, but the 6 is not legible. (The partial VIN is very faint and barely legible, probably due to the engine being reconditioned during the restoration.) You are welcome to inspect the car and make your own determination beforehand as to whether or not the engine is original. The car now has ceramic-coated, after-market headers. However, I have the original factory headers/exhaust manifold and connector pipes. Note also that the car is titled in Pennsylvania, not West Virginia. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is K26. Ended at $29,200 (RnM). April 20, 2016. 1) 42,000 miles. Seen on www.c3vr.com on February 25, 2008. |
