Car history: |
1969 Corvette Convertible resotration project with 136k miles. This car has been in my family since 1984. The car does not have a tank sticker, and it is NOT a numbers matching car. Here are the features of the car: 1) New rebuilt 427 engine installed in 2007 (see receipt in pics). 2) L88 hood and pretty sweet rear fender flares. 3) Manual transmission (original). 4) Undercarriage in decent shape, interior is not too bad but needs work. The car runs and drives and will absolutely HAUL. 1) The VIN tag is missing. We have the title with the VIN, but you will have to apply for a lost tag. 2) The gas tank had to be removed and a temporary tank was rigged up behind the seat. 3) The standard C3 Corvette rear end has been replaced with a straight-axle camaro rear end. It actually drives and handles better with this rear end as opposed to the C3 rear-end with the 4 U-joints. But obviously this is not original so wanted to point it out-see photos. 4) The hood is not attached to the car, it is broken off the latches. 5) We do not seem to have the rear bumper. 6) We put a new battery on it and started up and it drained the battery, so the alternator may be bad. Car runs and drives but is not really road worthy, registration and instpection are not current, temporary gas tank only holds about 4 gallons, etc. You will need a trailer to pick it up. All, here are the codes from the car: Date Code, C03, October '68, Trim Code - Z04 - Black, Paint Code - 984 - Daytona Yellow (you can see some of the original yellow in some of the pics). 35,990 miles from the odometer. November 5, 2009. |
