Positraction rear end with 3.36 gears. The engine and transmission were rebuilt approximately 10,000 miles ago. Other recent mechanical work includes; new master cylinder, calipers, brake lines, new shocks, u-joints, wheel bearings, A-frame bushings, idler arm, clutch fan and new exhaust. The vacuum system is in working order. The car runs and drives excellent. Paint code 972---Classic White with custom Star Spangled Banner paint. The paint is in very nice condition, always garaged. The chrome is in very nice condition. Very nice rust-free California frame. Excellent body with no sign of repair. Trim code 407---Red vinyl interior. The interior is in excellent condition. New carpet, new seat covers, very nice original dash and door panels. All gauges are in working order. Nice original T-top inserts. The weather stripping is in good condition. Newer BF Goodrich TA's with Vintage America mags. 1970 was the lowest production chrome bumper Corvette, with only 10,668 coupes produced. Only 4,910 were produced with 350 Horse Power. Very few of these came fully loaded with air. The original tank sticker is still on the gas tank. Historical Note This is the original "Star Spangled Corvette." A California icon which has been featured in many magazines and posters. Bought new in 1970 by David Dugan, alias "Captain America". Dugan had his car painted with his trademark "The Stars & Stripes" (50 Stars). He also purchased the American mags. The personalized plates (1-USA) were updated in 1984.
