Notes/Race History: In 1970, this Corvette Roadster was built by Henry Gomez, Roy Boone, Darwin Bosell, and John Biza, owner of John's Corvette Shop in St Paul Park (MN).In 1971, owner/driver John Biza began racing his newly completed Corvette Roadster. John held competition licenses in FIA, IMSA, and SCCA. (SCCA car Log Book #18-335; Car #12). John competed in many regional and national Trans-Am races such as, the Un-Cola Nationals, Pepsi Trans-Arn Nationals, and 7-UP S.C.C.A. Trans-American Championship. During his time behind the wheel in the 70's. In 1976, the Corvette was purchased by Darwin Bosell, of Cedar (MN). Darwin, a former crew member of John's Corvette Shop Racing Team, also competed in SCCA Trans-Am and IMSA Camel GT Series, running as car #25. During this period, the Corvette underwent its first update. In 1978, the car was rebodied into a hardtop/couple configuration with the 1978 Corvette Pace Car paint scheme, and was no longer a roadster. The car raced with Darwin at the controls from 1976 to 1989 with many top finishes to his acclaim. In 1989, Darwin retired the car, and it was placed in storage. In 1994, Jack Beckman, also from Minnesota, purchased the old IMSA car. With the help of Darwin Bosell, old photographs, and the original body parts, Jack was able to return the racecar to a roadster. Jack raced the car in many vintage events sanctioned by VSCDA, VSCR, and RMVR. After five years of vintage racing, Jack sold the 1970 Corvette Roadster to the current owners in December of 1999. The car was then completely disassembled, the frame was checked for straightness and painted, and the original G.M. J-56 brake system was located and installed. Recent Competition History: Donnybrook Raceway regional track record holder (May 14, 1972) Received SVRA Medallion # 6-410 in 2001 Vintage Motorsport Magazines--Pick of the Liter-- Brian Redman International Challenge 2002 Recipient of Road and Track Magazines KRIEGER award, BRIC 2003 Corvette Fever Magazines featured car at BRIC 2003.
