June 16, 2010. 1) My father's car. He is the original owner and I remember bringing the car home from the dealer in 1970. I always thought this car would stay in the family, but it hasn't worked out for good reasons. I'm currently faced with having to choose between the Corvette or my Maserati. The Vette has been lovingly used for many years and spent time for many years as a freeway daily driver before my dad retired. Over the years, the car and engine were rebuilt several times. The original engine was replaced during the last rebuild with a GM 454 HO Crate engine. Quite a bit of work was done about two years ago, but he didn't completely finish the car. I've tried to describe the recent work and condition below. The odometer reads 69,874 miles, but the mileage is 269,874. This car has only been driven in souther california. Recent Work: Repowered with GM Crate Engine 454 HO 425-HP (4-bolt main, roller cam, etc) with less than 1,000 miles, New Holley Fuel Pump, Radiator - 4-row core, Hi-Perf Water Pump, Electric Fans, Stainless steel calipers, Carpet & Seat Covers, A/C Fresh, Updated Power Steering, Michelin Pilots, Suspension (New bushings, later model leaf spring), Wheel trim rings. Still Needs: Paint & Chrome, Interior trim & detailing, Radio, Windshield (small pitting). 269,874 miles. Color codes from the tank sticker. February 28, 2010. |
