1980 Chevrolet Corvette L-48 Option Car. 69,000 Original Miles. Creme white Original Paint! (Yes, Original!) DoeSkin Interior (Needs Work, but not for long! Read Below ) Factory A/C Corvette Factory Corvette Alloy Wheels T-tops Tilt and Telescoping steering wheel. 4 wheel disc brakes Both Vaccum assisted headlights work like a dream (which is pretty rare for an original Corvette ) I have all the factory parts except for the factory valve covers. I just ordered almost a thousand dollars worth of parts to fix just about everything for this car. New parts on order for the things that need attention but not too much does. As I get the parts in, I will post updated photos of progress as the new parts mate to the Corvette.
Here Are the following parts I have ordered for this Corvette: From: Eckler's Corvette: Part number: 34431 Description: Corvette Shifter Console Trim Plate, With Power windows and Rear Defroster. Cost: $63.93 From: Jeff_Vette Ebay: Description: Corvette Center Gauge Radio Bezel Housing Trim. Cost: $43.78 From: Full Throttle Corvette Ebay: Description: Corvette Complete Carpet Set Molded Doeskin. Cost: $294.00 From: Corvette Central Ebay: Description: Corvette Lug Nuts. Cost: $22.94 From: Eckler's Corvette: Part Number: A5293. Description: Corvette Shifter Knob, Automatic Transmission, Chrome. Cost: $19.99 From: Eckler's Corvette: Part Number:A9424. Cost: $18.75 From: jfortec Ebay. Description: 1980 Corvette Side Fender Louvers Pair Black. Cost: $47.99 From: Iggeeseatcovers Ebay. Description: 1980 Leather seat covers Doeskin: Cost: $194.00
That totals out to Just Under $850.00 in parts!!!!!
If you were to take this car to a Corvette speciality shop, parts would have been at least double the price.
Labor for all those pieces at a Corvette speciality shop would minimum be $5000.00 if not more than this.
You buy the car say for example $8000.00 Plus parts from a Corvette shop: $1600.00 Plus labor: $5000.00 Thats $14,600.00 Total investment!
You know and I know that those numbers are not going to make you any money anytime soon on this car if and when you decide to sell this car.
I have eliminated 98% of the parts and labor that this car is going to need. You may be asking yourself why such an original Car needs this many parts? Answer: Previous Owner had NO business owning this Corvette nor anything like it.
Just the average retail of this car according to NADA is $16,165.00 With just minor cosmetic work you could easily get this car into the High retail which is $24,570.00 Realisticly with todays bad economy $24,570.00 would, in reality, never happen until the market picks back up steadily. I am letting this car go for just under the low retail of the NADA guide sheet, which is $11,825.00 This is a realistic Corvette with a realistic owner and wants a realistic price. I can deliver the car for $1.10 per loaded mile or you can have the car shipped to your house. The new owner will get all of the new parts if I haven't got them installed yet. My name is Brandon my cell is 806-330-0383 if you have any questions or concerns or would like to make an appointment.
UPDATE: Got new Side Louvers installed onto car. Photos of new one on the car and the old one that I took off.
UPDATE: Got new Gauge Cluster Bezel in just now, will have pics up tomorrow of the old one and the new one installed.
UPDATE: Bottom plastic trim piece took off. sanded, lacquered the old paint off, dried, shot Duplicolor Automotive paint and clearcoat on. pic of freshly painted trim on car.
