Car history: |
05/02/2014 This 1975 Corvette is fresh out of a 10 year storage. It has been owned by the same guy since 1990. This was his baby. Never beat, abused, or even driven in bad weather. The under carriage of this vette is like showroom new. No rust, scale pitting..nothing. The body mounts are perfect. Birdcage is perfect also. Which is to be expected from a car that's been garaged its entire life.
The drivetrain is completely #'s matching from front to back. It's a L-48 auto car. She runs good. Starts right up. It has not been messed with as far as replacement parts. The new owner should tune it up and check everything out as she has been sitting. However it does run, shift and function as its supposed to. No smoke upon start up, like most older small block Chevys.
The braking system has been gone through. The front calipers were replaced with new pads. The rotors were replaced 3,000 miles ago. The rears are fine but the fluid was flushed out of the entire system for good measure. The brake and fuel lines are mint. As are the tires. No major rattles. It drives very tight down the road. The power windows work good. The Headlights go up and down perfectly. The A/C system is all there but blows cool. It may just need a little refrigerant. It needs to be diagnosed. This car was meant to be driven with the T-Tops off anyway.
The interior was always in good shape but has been updated over the years. New carpets, door panels, and seat foam and covers have been replaced. The rest is all factory original and in excellent shape. It looks really nice.
The body on this car is very nice as well. It's never been hit so the gaps and panel alignment is good. The paint is shiny and vibrant. There is some stone chips from normal use. It may be the original paint on it. The previous owner never had any paint work done and he's had it since 1990. Either way, its very nice.
What this car needs is the front and rear bumpers replaced. The material they were made with has begun to deteriorate and they are falling apart. I'm told this happens to all of the original bumpers eventually. The nice part is, they are easily found at any Corvette parts supplier. So purchase them, install them and paint them, and she's ready for summertime enjoyment.
This car has been washed. That's it. Other then that its exactly how it was when removed from the garage. |
