Car history: |
2) This 1968 corvette convertible is an amazing investment both emotionally and financially. A great car you can be very proud of and still drive it without the worry of a destroying the wax on the frame. This is one of the most desirable 68's you can buy. The car is a matching numbers big block convertible 390 HP with four speed and removable hard top. The car runs exceptionally well and we've gone through it completely to make sure all the gauges, lights work well. Cosmetically she's in excellent condition. The paint is not show quality but very nice and presentable. We recently installed a new windshield, had the bumpers chromed, and installed new door panels. The tires and wheels look great as well. Lastly, we have many receipts from the previous owner one of which is a receipt for a $10,000 engine rebuild from a corvette specialist. Nice! I still have some items to finish on this car but you're welcome to come by and see her anytime. We can decide on any additional items you would like addressed. BiN $39,000 (Ended) on February 9, 2018. 1) I bought this car about five years ago, I still have the paperwork and listing from when I purchased it. I had the engine professionally rebuilt, I have the receipts, but I have done very little driving of it and the carb needs to be rebuilt now. It needs tires, a convertible top (I also have the hard top for it), probably suspension, and the headlights don't work. I currently have the dash taken apart from when I was working on the vacuum lines, even though the interior is a mess, I have most of the pieces for it and many are new. It has a driver quality paint job and had some frame repair at some point before I purchased it. I don't believe there to be any rust on the bird cage. New front bumper and exhaust. I don't have the time or the money to complete this car and am giving it away compared to what I purchased it for, plus the nearly $10k for the engine rebuild. I would guess that you could part this out for more than the reserve. It's far from a show car, but not far from being a nice driver. I know the engine is numbers matching, and I believe the rest of the drive train is as well, the few times that I have driven it, the transmission has shifted very nicely. Low optioned car, but the least common color behind black. Mileage is a guess, I have no idea what the actual mileage on it is. I have attached photos of the trim tag. It is an early model built in 10/67. The pics of the engine are from when it was out being rebuilt, the pics with the hard top on are from the day I took delivery, it is still in that condition, it's just dirty and covered in dust right now, the engine is beautiful-just needs a dusting. I also included some pics of where the rust repair was done. 89,887 miles from the odometer. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is C12. Motor suffix code is IL. December 18, 2011. |
