2) Pour amateurs, collectionneurs. Cette trs rare Corvette C3 Cab 1968 Big bloc V8 427 Cabriolet. Boite 4 manuelle... Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is E20. 39,000 Euros demands. 12 septembre 2011. 1) You are looking at car number 07283 out of 28,566 Corvettes built in 1968. This car was assembled on December 20, 1967. This "Vette" originally came equipped with a 327 small block V8 with a 4 speed. The Corvette has since had the power plant upgraded to a 427 big block V8. The Nassau Blue paint scheme gives the perfect accent to the customized body lines of this classic "Vette". The paint is in nice driver quality condition. It looks good from a couple of feet away but at closer inspection you can see some of its age. There is no major damage or cracking to speak of but there are some nics and scrapes you would expect from a road driven car. The 427ci V8 fires right up and rumbles down the road with lots of power. The engine has many aftermarket upgrades like aluminum valve covers, after market AC, chrome air cleaner, chrome thermostat housing, aluminum radiator, Mallory distributor, coated exhaust headers, and a Weber 4 barrel carburetor. The rebuilt 427 is an Impala motor with the date code of February 5, 1969. The black interior is in good condition and matches the personality of this car very well. Driving music is provided by the Clarion 6 CD stereo and Bose speakers. The cockpit also features a cool wood Corvette steering wheel. Heat and AC controls will need to be added to make the systems operate. The matching black convertible top is in very good condition and is free from tears or splits. This car also has a painted hardtop that has been custom "California Cut". You can use it as a full top or remove the front half and have the seating area open. The chrome bumpers and side pipes are in good condition and are nice and shiny. The 225/75/R15 BF Goodrich radial tires are in great shape with a lot of tread left on them and show no signs of uneven wear. 15 inch Chevy Rally wheels with derby caps and beauty rings are a great fit for this stock looking Corvette. Some items included with the car are a new alternator (installed), rear view mirror head, door window felts, a wood grain instrument cluster, Hayes service manual, and more (see pic). Overall, this fast fun "Vette" is in good driver quality condition. Even though it's not a concourse restoration, it is a "looker" and it has tons of personality. This car runs, drives, and stops well but could use a new owner's TLC to make it really nice. The odometer reads 55,974 miles but we believe the actual mileage to be 155,974. The car retains its original black and yellow California license plates and a clear California title is on hand. This vehicle is consigned to the Towe Auto Museum, a non-profit organization located at 2200 Front Street, Sacramento, CA, where it is available for inspection. 155,974 miles. November 20, 2008. |
