This 1969 Corvette Stingray has had virtually every system on the car gone through. An extensive and detailed mechanical restoration was professionally done at a cost of more than $25,000. New GM 350 crate motor with only 3000 miles on it since professional installation in December, 2004. Ceramic coated headers. Complete new exhaust system. All new ignition components. Quadrajet carb, Edelbrock intake. 4 new tires. New fuel lines. Full brake replacement (front, rear pads, rotors, hoses and calipers). New power steering system. New power steering control value and slave cylinder. New front end components including lower control arm bushings and ball joints. New camber bolts on rear suspension. New rear leaf spring bushings, ride height settings. The rear pinion seal was replaced. Both trailing arms were rebuild with new bearings and seals. 4-wheel alignment. Cosmetically the interior has also been extensively restored: New floor pans, New carpet, New seat covers, New dashpad, New windshield. Gauges, mirrors, antenna, door handles, emblems and body and t-top weather strips were replaced. Kenwood radio / CD player. Lights and Windshield wipers, Completely new vacuum harness and wiper door and headlamps raise and lower very quickly. The frame is in very good shape and has never lived in a corrosive (coastal) environment. As a result it does not suffer from the rust issues that often accompany the C3 corvette. Due to the extensive mechanical and suspension restoration this car rides and drives like a new 1969 corvette. Other things to know: This car also has cold AC. Now for the bad news: the car is missing its ash tray, the windows really need to be adjusted so the doors close better, the clock does not work. While the paint is good there are some spots on the t-tops and front end from stone chips. The body of this car is in very good shape and has no spider crack on the fenders. However, it is a driver car, not a trailer queen. She loves to be driven. The car also has not been driven in 18 months due to the owner moving out of state. However, the car is being regularly started and maintained. 100,700 miles. January 30, 2010 |
