Car history: |
I bought this from a guy not too long ago thinking it was a correct numbers car. He scammed me knowing that the block was replaced with a 1969 crate block. The guy I had look at the car let me down as far as that goes too. It has the correct heads, intake, tri-power setup, M-21, and rear end. The car is a nice car that just had the block replaced with a GM crate block in 69 or 70. It currently has a Quadrajet on the car now with a compatible intake. I have the original correct intake and Holley tri setup that will come with the car. The car is supposedly a survivor with no body damage and original 29k for miles. I have no documentation, but the car is a rust free example and has been babied for sure. The interior is unmolested all original. No missing knobs or damage and in good condition. The body is all smooth GM glass from the factory with a few nicks here and there, but NO damage. It was repainted 11 years ago and is driver quality. All of that being said. It is a 1968 original tri-power 427/400 A/C 4speed car with low mileage. A very nice base for a resto or driver. 1968 Corvette coupe Lemans Blue- 976 Bright blue interior- 414 L-68 427/ 400 hp motor with correct intake, heads, carbs- and non numbers 1969 (3963512) cast block replacement Intake-3937795 Heads-3917215 Carbs- front-3902353EU middle-3940929EV rear- 3902353EU Factory air conditioning Original interior Muncie M-21 4 speed The bad- The motor need an air filter to match the quad or just put the tri power setup on and get the correct triangle setup. The interior is clean, but not show. It is survivor quality- all there right down to the stickers under the jack lid. The lights work, but are slow. The wipers do not work, but did. The A/C is original, but not hooked up. All there on the car. The car has a line or tank leak. An easy fix, but I do not have the time to mess with it. I drained it. Small PS leak. Not bad- maybe a quarter after months. Hood latches not hooked up. The good- Looks like original fiberglass with no damage. Original chrome in good shape- nice shine still. Frame 'Pings" and is not rusted at all. Birdcage is nice as well. Interior has all of its 1968 stuff there- even the T-top bags. Tires are new. Glass is all original in good shape. T-tops are tightly fitting and do not leak. back glass does not leak and fits tight. The car drives fine and tracks well, just need to fix the gas issue. Colors from the trim plate. Built date is K04. 29,600 miles. August 11, 2009. |
