1971 CORVETTE STINGRAY 350 V8 400 TURBO TRANSMISSION T-TOPS REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW FACTORY A/C, *NICE OLDER RESTORATION * You are looking at a very nice 1971 CORVETTE STING RAY with a 350/270 H.P., 400 TURBO HYDRA-MATIC TRANSMISSION, T-TOP, REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW, and FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. This car has an older restoration however the odometer was set a 0 when it was completed and it only shows 7,562 miles now. I believe the car to be a matching numbers car however when the motor was rebuilt the block was decked and the numbers are no longer able to be seen on the front pad. The casting numbers on the block are 3970010 wich makes it the correct motor for it's era. The TURBO HYDRA-MATIC 400 tags read as 71-CK-9758 and the rear differitial casting numbers read as 387137. Because we cannot see the I.D. numbers on the front of the block we will not guarantee this to be a numbers matching car. The underneath side of this STINGRAY was completely redone. The exhaust, u-joints, bushings, and suspension were either rebuilt or replaced. We also had all 4 calipers and brake pads replaced last week. This car rides and drives better than it did back in 1971. The paint, wheels and chrome are all in very good condition and still look great ( see exact condition report below ). The interior appears to be the original and the drivers seat cover shows some wear. We have new seat covers that come with the car but the color is not a very good match. The motor was rebuilt and repainted the correct color. The intake is an Edelbrock Performer so we know it is not the original. This car is already a collectors item but with so few chrome bumper Corvettes in existence it is hard telling what this car will be worth in the future. The paint and chrome are all in very nice condition. There is about a 3 inch crack on the edge of the nose below the head light bucket and there is a small chip in the windshield that has been repaired. Overall this is a very nice looking car that you can be proud of. INTERIOR: The interior appears to original. The drivers seat has a tear in it and the carpet shows some fade. The dash, door panels, console, instrument cluster, and gauges are all in great condition and work as they should. Overall the interior shows some wear but still looks good. DRIVETRAIN: Everything was rebuilt or replaced. The car starts, runs, and drives great. The head lights work but go up slow and the air conditioning works but the compressor makes some noise. However you can drive this car anywhere. Some might consider this to be a show car and it could be with a few slight repairs. I will call it an extremely nice driver with show car potential.
