Car history: |
This is a very sharp looking 1980 corvette. It is a numbers matching car I bought in California a few years back and have extensive time and money into the restoration of this classic. This car is titled in California and I have the original title.
This car has a good solid non rusty frame under it and is in great shape. The front end on this car has been replaced including the steering rack. The rear suspension bushings, trailing arm and strut rod bushings have been replaced. Wheel bearings have been done. The front and rear brakes were replaced as well as the master cylinder. It has a new exhaust system, shocks and new tires.
With the exception of the dash and gauge bezels the interior has been replaced, new carpet, new seats, door panels, and leather steering wheel. The power windows go up and down great and the doors open and close like a new car and do not sag or squeak
The guy I bought it from said the motor had been rebuilt. I have done nothing to the motor but it runs nice. The transmission shifts great and the rear end does not howl or go clunk when you put it in gear.
The T tops are in good shape with no cracks or bad scratches.
The torch red paint job looks sharp but is not perfect as it is a couple of years old now and has some dings and scrapes in it. I was planning on repainting it but havent got that far yet.
This is a nice driving car and I get a lot of compliments when I take it out.
There are some things how ever that I have not got around to repairing yet, the oil pressure and oil temp gauges are not working. The sending unit is all that is required to repair the pressure gauge
The air conditioning is intact but not working
Cruise control does not work
Heater works great but wont switch to defrost
The horn is not working
Headlights are working but wont come up because of a leaking actuator seal
I do have the parts to repair the horn and the headlights and will do my very best to have them in working order before the car goes, however if that does not happen the parts will go with the car.
I have been as open and honest as I can be in describing this car to every body. With a little bit more work on the items I have mentioned this will be a great classic car that any body would be proud to own.
