Here is a nice example of a solid 1969 vette, it's a numbers matching engine, trans, rear. I have no time to use it any longer. It's the 350 hp 350 cu.in engine, 4 speed close ratio transmission and a 3:70 ratio posi-traction rear differential. Original color with black interior. The frame is very solid and needs nothing, no repairs ever, and the car runs good and is currently registered and was being used up until the end of cruising season last fall. Starts fine and runs good, no smoke, no issue, motor is very healthy, trans works fine, has factory shifter, works and looks fine, no noise from trans, rear is fine. The brake calipers and brake lines were recently replaced and all work fine, it has power brakes. The fuel tank and cap and sending unit were replaced last year. Has the rally wheels and all the trim, the carb is not original, radiator is fine, the lower radiator support is rusty and should be replaced. The motor has 35 PSI oil pressure hot. The tach does not work, do not know why. All the other gauges work. The odometer shows 80,682 miles on it. The paint is old and falling off, and he removed some of the weatherstripping around the side windows, although he purchased new and is included with the car. The engine block is the #010 casting, casting date of H-20-8, pad looks like 19S702819, VO831HW, it has the original very desirable double hump #186 heads,#184 intake dated I-13-8 The trim tag reads B26, ZQ4, and 986 paint. All the glass is tinted. The windshield frame is solid. There is no rot in the door frames or hinge pillars or anywhere else in the body birdcage or sills I can detect. The body has some minor cracks, as expected but the cars lines are pretty good, the glass is all good, the removable rear window glass was replaced with a lexan insert in the frame although the frame is fine. The interior is in pretty good shape, door panels and dash are original and very good, the dash is perfect as is the lower dash panels, console. The seats are leather. The carpet is fair. The exhaust system is solid. The parking brake works well and the spare tire tub is in place. The car is not perfect and has minor issues, such as the rh turn signal indicator stays on the dash, the tailpipe extensions are rusty, rear bumpers are going to need re chrome, the hood release cable snapped and will need replacing. I removed the hood pins from the hood so it cannot get locked by mistake but are with the car, missing t-top liners, things like that. It's a good solid car that runs good, has all its parts and is ready to use or an excellent candidate for restoration. May 21, 2009. |
