Car history: |
1968 Corvette Convertible, Matching Number, Project Driver. 1968 Chevrolet rolled out the shark fenders C3 third generation corvette which was one of the most succesfull chevrolet designs in history lasting until 1982. We would rate this corvette as a good project driver with investment potential. The vehicle needs some TLC restoration was started with a paint job and mechanically solid but needs attention with the details and undercarriage. It is a Matching Number Corvette which gives great value and potential. The classic corvette red paint looks good, but blemishes show as at close inspection in the economic paint job. The chrome looks decent but could use a buff. The glass is good, but windshield has a crack near dash. The door handles have signs of oxidation. The rims and tires are in good shape with plenty of tread left. The weather stripping is in decent condition and convertible top has signs of aging. There are clear signs of rust underneath the car, but nothing that cant be fixed. The interior looks to be reupholstered over 15 years ago. The seats and carpet are in good condition. The original radio was replaced with newer style. Most gauges are in good working condition except speedometer and RPM. The steering wheel is in decent condition with signs of discoloration that could be cleaned up. The Matching Number 327 V8 engine is in good running condition and starts without smoking or strange sounds. The 4 speed transmission is in good condition. The clutch engages 25% out and doesnt seem to slip under acceleration. Mechanically the car is very solid and it would make a great driver as you enjoy it while finishing restoration. Beautiful running and driving corvette project that wouldnt take much to achieve investment quality. Great potential in this Matching Number Convertible Chrome Bumper C3 Corvette. 56,796 miles.
